Big things. .

Miles has been working super hard on sitting and bearing weight on his hands.  Here are a few pics from therapy and at home.  He can sit independently for about 10 seconds then tips over.  He can get to his hands on his own about 50 percent of the time and push up,  the other 50 percent we help him to his hands and he can maintain for awhile. He eats like a champ and is about 16 pounds.  He left the hospital aug. 5th weighing just under 12 pounds.  That's 4 pounds in two months!

Updates. .

Oh goodness how working full time and being a mommy to two has completely consumed us! Nolan is loving school.  He sings songs he's learned constantly, met so many friends,  been in two field trips,  swims on Mondays, church class Wednesdays! His passion for learning and acquiring knowledge is so amazing.  He also recently jumped off a swing and got as mild wrist fracture.  First cast and hopefully our last!  It'll only be on for 3-4 weeks.  These kids are financially draining from medical bills,  BUT THEY ARE HEALTHY and thriving so it's okay.

Miles is enjoying daycare with Miss Sara and PT on Tuesdays.  His early intervention teacher comes weekly on Wednesdays and someone from the school districts other teams weekly.  (OT, speech,  PT.) He's almost bearing weight on his hands and met almost all of his goals/objectives for spring! We're looking forward to swimming lessons with him in the next few months!

The holidays are upon us, along with crazy work schedules and busy weekends. We're grateful to have good health,  jobs, and  lots of time with family and friends. We wouldn't have it any other way.  Here are a few pics from the last month.

We Walk for Miles

Today was our first "Step Up For Down Syndrome" walk at Como Park.  So many family and friends joined us to support Miles and the DS community.  We walked the long route (2 miles) around Lake Como and then had lunch and hung out for awhile.  It was quite the event!!  Face painting, bounce houses, vendors, food and beautiful weather!

We saw so many people who have clearly done this a lot before, as they got there way earlier and set up their own tents, chairs, etc.  We're already planning our event for next year!  We also got to finally meet two other sweet girls, Kate and Amelia. They too were born with DS within the last year and we've connected with them through friends or the school district.  We look forward to getting to know them better!

We ended up being the 8th team to raise the most money, almost $1,500!  We are proud to help such a great LOCAL cause that we personally see the benefits of.  We went to the "New Parent" tent and got a personalized gift bag with snacks, book, and calendar in it.

Our shirts were great, we received lots of compliments on them.  Lots of our kids/babies sported superhero gear as well.

We felt so much love today, I wish I could've bottled it up. Bottled it up and opened it for a day when we feel challenged, worried, and alone. Luckily, our family and friends are constants in our lives who help keep our hearts full.

Here are some pictures of the day.  To our sweet boy Miles, THESE are your wings who will help you fly. THESE are the people who see you and not a disability.  THESE are YOUR people.
